Selena Gomez, the 25 year-old singer, reveals about her kidney transplant because she was suffering from an incurable disease called Lupus. Her friend donated her the kidney and Selena thanked her friend, Francia Raisa for the ultimate gift her friend gifted her with. She posted a photo on Instagram of herself with her friend in the hospital holding hands as they both lie on their bed alongside to each other. She also posted on social media thanking her beautiful friend for donating her, her kidney. She wrote “She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed.” She added “I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.”

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body. Selena also posted a message for her fans on instagram saying “I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for the part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I need a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.”

The source says that she was diagnosed with Lupus in 2015 and she have been through chemotherapy to cure it. The operation took place on Thursday morning  but she didn’t revealed when the operation took place. Her friend is a celebrity herself and have appeared in a couple od TV series which included Life Of The American Teenage.
