PM Narendra Modi landed this afternoon in his Lok Sabha constituency, Varanasi, where he inaugurated several developmental projects pending in the city.

PM Modi flagged off Banaras-Vadodara Mahamana Express today via remote control. He was assisted by railway minister Piyush Goyal.

The train is a luxury sleeper coach with posh interiors. The pantry car has an electric chimney in the pantry car, and fire extinguishers in all the coaches. The windows have powered venetian and roller blinds, while all the lights in the car are upgraded to LED. There are also ergonomically designed ladders for climbing the berths. In all, the train is a luxury to travel in.

He then inaugurated the Deendayal Hastkala sankul in Bada Lalpur in Varanasi, a trade and handicrafts center for the weavers in the state, which is a rupee 274 Crore project aimed towards facilitating trade in the city, and development of international business.

Other highlights of the day were the inauguration of Utkarsh bank, specialized in microfinance, ‘jal ambulance’, and ‘jal shav vahan’ by the PM

Complimenting his work, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in a tweet that he (Modi) has done commendable work for the state and completed projects pending since the last one decade.

The PM was also praising for Yogi as he thanked the minister for launching in numerous development projects in the state.

Modi also inaugurated several bridges and other projects of significance to the state and laid foundation stones for several others.

He is scheduled to participate in a cleanliness drive in Shahanshahpur village on Saturday, wherein he will reward the beneficiaries and promote his ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ among the people of the village.
