Chasing down the score of 229 in women’s cricket world cup finals against England in a close match, India lost the match by 9 runs with 8 balls to spare. Goswami was the pick of the bowlers for India, ending the day with figures of 3-23. Punam Raut scored 86 runs and Harmanpreet Kaur 51. Anya Shrubsole of England took 6-46 to swing the match into england’s favor. India’s chase was right on track but the women in blue dramatically lost seven wickets for 28 runs and ended up on the losing side. This is England fourth title while India failed to win their first in two attempts. Even though India failed to win the final match but our women’s cricket team made the whole country proud.
