On 40th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries Limite, Mukesh Ambani Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited unveiled Reliance JioPhone 4G VoLTE feature phone. which including voice command recognition, compact design, 4-way navigation. these features set the new JioPhone apart from any other feature phone in the market.
Reliance Jio will give out JioPhone for user testing in beta from August 15 and will ship starting the first week of September, and pre-orders begin on August 24. The Jio feature phone is free of cost for the users though Jio is initially asking customers to pay a security deposit of Rs 1500 for three years. The best part is your deposit will be refundable and which means users will get there deposit back after they return the JioPhone after using it for three years. Obviously, users will have to spend on recharge and tariffs to use the Internet on the device accordingly.
Pre-bookings don’t start until August 24. JioPhone will be available to users on first come first serve basis. JioPhone can be pre-booked from the company’s official website, through MyJio app and Reliance Digital stores across the country. all the feature phone of Jio will be ‘Made in India’.
The primary purpose of the phone is to transfer feature phone users to a smarter device.
JioPhone gets a 2.4-inch (color display) QVGA screen, Dual-Sim card slots, SD card slot, FM Radio, may have GPS, a headphone jack along with microphone and speaker. The option of browsing internet is also available. Phone support all the application of MyJio app. There’s also an additional option to cast JioPhone using JioCinema app onto users TV. JioPhone supports all Indian languages, which would be very useful while giving voice commands. SOS feature is also included in the phone which can be activated by pressing 5 and even support NFC (near field communication) for tap and go payment. Users can link their bank accounts UPI and Debit/Credit cards to it. It also gets automatic software updates.
Reliance Jio has announced special plans as well as sachet packs for its users. Rs 153 monthly plan gives users unlimited data with 500 MB FUP (Fair Usage Policy) per day. Call and Sms are completely free. There is also small recharge sachet of 24 rupees valid for 2 days and 54 rupees sachet valid for 7 days. But unfortunately, is does not support Whatsapp at the moment and even don’t have Hotspot option available for internet sharing.
